Skin cancer can be life-threatening, but early detection can make a significant difference. This September, participating dermatologists across South Africa are offering free skin cancer screenings to help educate patients and identify potentially concerning skin lesions.

Once you've found a participating dermatologist, contact their practice directly to make a booking.
Please note: Only dermatologists participating in this initiative will offer the screening free of charge. Other dermatologists can also perform skin cancer screenings or mole mapping, but their normal consultation fees will apply.
What does the free screening include?
The appointment is specifically for skin cancer screening. The participating dermatologist will examine your skin with the aim of:
- Identifying potentially suspicious lesions
- Detecting possible signs of skin cancer
- Educating you about skin cancer and skin health
- Advising you if further assessment or treatment may be required
What is not included?
The free screening appointment does not include treatment of any lesions identified during the examination.
Other skin conditions, including acne, eczema and similar dermatological concerns, will also not be assessed as part of the free screening.
If further investigation or treatment is recommended, this will need to be arranged separately with the appropriate healthcare professional.
